ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Personality Academics

Grace is a happy and easy-going little girl who can be included in whatever activities are going on around her as she enjoys taking in the world. She particularly enjoys keeping an eye on other children as they play. When she is playing, she gravitates towards toys that make noises and light up – playing with these sensory toys is a great way to stimulate her development.

If Grace is upset, she is able to be soothed by hearing her foster parent’s voice or by feeling their touch.

Sometimes Grace will wake in the middle of the night, but being the big girl she is, she will talk to herself for a bit before falling asleep again.

Grace is not yet school-aged and has not attended a daycare program. She will benefit from significant support to aid in her transition to school in the future. Full-time support will be essential to ensure her medical needs are always met.

Openness Special Considerations

Grace would benefit from being able to maintain some level of relationship with her birth mother and younger sibling through visits. Contact with her foster family can be maintained on an informal basis.

Due to some of her medical needs, Grace has not been able to develop at the same rate as her peers. It is not expected for her to catch up to her peers but that does not stop this little one from experiencing the big world.

Grace is currently involved with a pediatrician, dietician, vision therapist, neurologist, occupational therapy services and physiotherapy. It is expected that Grace will be involved with a team of medical professionals throughout her life. With the help of her foster parent, Grace benefits from physical exercise several times a day to keep limber. Grace also takes medication daily to help her feel comfortable. She will need to maintain regular involvement with a medical team to monitor her development.

Matching Considerations Questions?

A two-parent family that is passionate about advocating for Grace and helping her reach her full potential is essential. An adoptive family would be able to meet Grace’s developmental needs, have the flexibility to work well with a team of medical professionals and provide life-long care for her. The adoptive family will also need to be able to meet her accessibility and mobility needs in the home and have knowledge or willing to learn how to use a feeding device. It is important for Grace to have full-time support to care for her medical needs.
