Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services
The AdoptOntario™ program is a not-for-profit service funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCSS) and operated by the Adoption Council of Ontario. Research has shown that children do best in stable, permanent homes. The AdoptOntario program is just one of the programs that MCSS has put in place to support finding permanent homes for Ontario’s children in care.
The purpose of the AdoptOntario™ program is to:
- Promote more timely adoption placements for Ontario's children where adoption is in their best interest, by pooling resource families from children's aid societies and private adoption practitioners across Ontario.
- Provide a place for all Ontario adoption professionals to exchange information and resources to assist them in their work.
- Provide a forum to increase public awareness and understanding about all aspects of adoption to both to adoption professionals and members of the public.
